Marcos Mortensen Steagall is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Design at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). In his research and professional pursuits, Dr. Mortensen Steagall explores the intersection of visual semiotics and practice-oriented methodologies in Art, Design, Communication, and Technology. Dr. Mortensen Steagall's work is characterised by an interdisciplinary approach that merges academic research with artistic practice, embracing diverse cultural narratives and knowledge systems. Additionally, he is the editor of the academic journal LINK Praxis and chairs the LINK International Conference, focusing on Practice-led Research and the Global South.

Dr Tatiana Tavares is a Senior lecturer and the Programme Director for Doctoral Studies at AUT University in Auckland, New Zealand. She is a practicing artist with 15 years experience in the graphic design Industry. Her artistic doctoral thesis is concerned with the potentials of polyvocality and interactive digital narrative. Her subjects involve practice-led research methodologies, Latin American syncretism in artistic and literary form, magical realism, and emergent technology. Her design practices cross graphic design, creative writing, illustration, prop making, film, sound design, AR technology and animation.

The driving force behind everything that Professor Hinematau McNeill does is wanting to make a difference for people who have been marginalised. In the 1980s, McNeill helped initiate Māori women’s refuges and pushed for the mandatory reporting of domestic violence. She joined Te Ara Poutama as a Senior Lecturer in 1997. Her doctorate worked with renowned tohunga (specialist/healer) Hohepa Kereopa, looking at what promotes mental wellness in Tūhoe kaumātua. Hinematau is Tapuika, Ngāti Moko, and worked on the historical record as a Treaty negotiator for her iwi, which settled with the Crown in 2014. This experience brought her tribal and academic worlds together and contributed significantly to her research focus and teaching. More recently, an interest in artistic practice-led research has enriched her postgraduate work and helped new and emerging scholars operate creatively in a way that values and respects indigenous epistemologies and ways of working.

Universidade Anhembi Morumbi

Master and PhD in Education: History and Philosophy, and a collaborating researcher at the School of Education of the University of São Paulo (since 2020). She coordinates the graduate program in Design at Anhembi Morumbi University. She is a curator and writer. One of the authors of the book Cultural Anthropophagy: The 24th Bienal de São Paulo 1998 (Afterall, 2015). She co-organized the book Histories of Exhibitions: Exemplary Cases (EDUC, 2016) and is the author of The body and the opus as a witness of times, in The Feminist Avant-Garde. Art of the 1970s (2017) by Gabriele Schor, and of Gretta Sarfaty, by Act Editora (2024).

​Sergio Nesteriuk worked as artistic and cultural producer at the MIS- Museum of Sound and Image and at the Latin America Memorial Foundation. Consultant and jury for competitions, awards and funding agencies. Screenwriter and producer nationally awarded by Rumos Itaú Cultural, ProAC and PRODAV/FSA. Curator of the BIG Festival – Gamescom Latam. Editor of the DATJournal – Design, Art and Technology. Since 2000, he has worked as a professor in Communication and Design courses and, since 2014, in the Postgraduate Program (Masters and Doctorate) in Design at the Anhembi Morumbi University. Deputy Coordinator (2022-2026) of the Architecture, Urbanism and Design Area at CAPES – a government agency for superior level staff improvement in Brazil.
